I’ve had the privilege of working with creative entrepreneurs of all kinds, including artists, musicians, DJs, and photographers, but all of them have one thing in common: a tireless pursuit of excellence and the subtext of “luxury” in everything they do.
Emilia Schobeiri of Emilia Jane Photography was no exception. Her brand was designed to appeal to couples around the globe who are seeking an elevated and editorial approach to capturing their destination weddings. Think yachts off the coast of Monaco, outfits plucked straight out of Cult Gaia’s newest collection, and a perfect balance of timelessness and candor.
Introduction
Emilia Schobeiri is a luxury wedding photographer named by BRIDES and Over the Moon as one of the best in the industry. Emilia sets herself apart through her evocative work that emphasizes capturing a distinct sense of place and of the present moment in every frame.
She strives to encapsulate the precise feelings of joy, levity, and laughter that run wild on these special occasions and is known across the industry for her ability to marry artfulness and soulfulness in her work.
the client
Emilia came to me by recommendation from a client who I had worked extensively with over the past year. She was looking for chic, understated copy to complement her new, and wanted someone who was able to embody an in-vogue and laid-back tone of voice.
Her custom site was designed by Jen Olmstead of TONIC Site Shop and, unlike many other projects I’ve worked on, was incredibly sparing with the copy. Driven largely by the impact of Emilia’s photography and videography, it was critical that her website’s tone of voice was complementary and compelling without being overwhelming.
This was executed through a deep dive into Emilia and her ideal clientele. In addition to interviewing Emilia and requesting samples of copy that resonated with her, I pored over pages of it-brand fashion, five star hotels, and near-infinite rave reviews that she had garnered throughout her career. By taking a roundabout approach rather than directly developing a brand voice per my standard methodology, I was able to create a well balanced voice that felt true to Emilia and to her work and blended seamlessly with her visual elements.
